I have 10 years+ professional experience working with people and animals, with excellent local and national references. I have also had lots of experience dealing with natural catastrophes from as many years living in South Florida (Palm Beach) and dealing with the devastation of that region's hurricanes. I'd be honored to help in whatever ways I can and am offering $25.00/hour massage and energy therapies (everything from deep tissue to trauma release to ...) for both animals and their caregivers (aka 'owners'). I am an animal communicator (I talk with them), which can come in handy. I am specifically trained in a number of different systems for working with animals to support them physically and energetically, and have been involved in many 'recoveries' by animals over the years, often working in 'team' with vets. Local animal services officials have established a phone line for those impacted by the Tea Fire who need assistance with their pets. A database of people who are able to provide foster homes for animals and those seeking a temporary home for their pets has been established. Authorities have also set up a fund to support medical care for injured pets.

Animal services officials said many of the pets found after the fire are injured and need treatment. The Animal Assistance Line is 681-4332. Donations of food, bedding, blankets, kitty litter and other general animal supplies are being accepted, authorities said. Donations can be dropped off at the County Animal Shelter at 5473 Overpass Rd. in Goleta. A volunteer cat organization called ASAP that operates out of the county shelter is also coordinating lost and found cats from the fire areas. To reach the group directly, call 683-3368.

The Santa Barbara Humane Society has hosted 105 cats, 55 dogs, and many other animals since the Tea Fire broke out. Animals belonging to people who have lost their homes are still being held at the 5399 Overpass Rd. location. It is coordinating with Santa Barbara County Animal Services for donations and seeking such items as food, blankets, and collars. For more information, call 964-4777.

Large Animals: Earl Warren Showgrounds, Gate C, 3400 Calle Real in Santa Barbara at the 101 & Los Positas.
